The Sahassavatthupakaraṇa II

Peter Masefield

Abstract

The Sahassavatthupakaraṇa, “An Anthology of Amusing Tales”, was composed by a certain Raṭṭhapāla of the Guttavaṅka monastery in Sri Lanka, probably some time between 900–1250 CE. Its oldest surviving manuscripts date to the 16th century; this is the second installment of these short translated stories. For Part I, see JOCBS 21: 82–103.
